Here we are, your favorite Shadow Portal team! You were probably waiting for this column at the end of February, but from now on this column will be published at the beginning of the month. Why? It's simple: it makes it easier to keep track of progress. Now, are you ready to find out how well our brave translators are doing? Let's begin! 🚀

Now that we can boast three new languages that our game is available in, there is quite a lot to discuss. A lot is happening out of your sight, and the Shadow Portal team is going out of their way to make sure there's something to surprise you. Today is one of those cases, because we haven't announced this news yet and decided to leave it until today. We're talking about the Italian translation, which has been around since almost the very beginning of the game and its translation has long been neglected, but today we'll prove that it's too early to bury it completely!

Let's start there, Italian was last update back in version 0.21 and hasn’t been updated since. Back, then an impressive 60% were translated, but since then we’ve added an impressive amount of scenes into the game, meaning the percentage of translated text slowly but surely declined down to 37%, until… *drum roll* a new translator came in! That's right, now we will again actively develop translation for Italian players, isn't it a miracle?

Now... let's talk about the newbies! The Spanish and Korean translations are breaking the sound barrier, fighting for the title of "fastest translation in the wild west". Their percentages of translated lines speak for themselves, in just three months almost 37% of the game is available in Spanish, and it’s basically the same for the Korean translation, but in just two months! Impressive, isn’t it?

Don't forget that as new updates come out, the overall percentage of translations always decreases. After all, new scenes are added, and there is always at least one new line in them! Therefore, the percentages are only relevant to the current update.

But that's not all - translations into Chinese, German and Japanese are also making steady progress, adding an average of about a thousand lines in the last month. And we hope that the French translation will soon catch up and surprise us all in March!
